Why Choose a Modular Water System?
In areas with unreliable energy and water scarcity, the AERAQUA Modular 100L Water System provides an optimized, efficient, and flexible solution to meet your water production needs.
Unlike traditional Atmospheric Water Generators (AWGs), which typically require a massive amount of energy to produce large quantities of water, our modular system is designed to maximize efficiency, minimize energy consumption, and provide scalable water production that adapts to fluctuating environmental conditions.
Key Benefits of the AERAQUA Modular Water System
- Solar-Optimized Design: Traditional AWGs that produce large volumes of water require significant amounts of energy to operate. For instance, a competitor's 500L unit needs about 5 kWh of power, which demands a large number of solar panels and an equally large battery storage system to ensure 24/7 operation, especially in places with unreliable or intermittent energy sources like Africa. With our modular design, we divide the 500L unit into five 100L units, allowing for efficient energy management. During the night or early morning/late evening hours when sunlight is minimal, we only operate 1-2 units, significantly reducing battery usage and energy demand. This allows us to use fewer solar panels and batteries while maintaining a steady water supply.
- Optimized for Unreliable Energy Regions: The modular system is built specifically for energy-scarce regions. Our approach allows for scalable water production, enabling users to start small and expand as needed without relying on a constant energy supply. This flexibility ensures that water production is always adaptable, even in areas where electricity is not guaranteed.
- Centralized Filtration: One of the major advantages of the modular system is the centralized filtration. Unlike competitors who place individual filtration systems in each unit, increasing maintenance costs and time, our system uses one centralized filtration system for all units. This drastically reduces the time spent on maintenance and lowers operational costs over the long term, as you only need to manage and replace filters for one system instead of five.
- Energy Efficiency and Reduced Operational Costs: By automating the operation of individual units, we can reduce the energy consumption of the system. This means that during times of lower solar availability, only a few units will be running, thereby minimizing battery load and maximizing water production. This optimized approach means less energy is wasted, and you get the most out of your system’s capabilities.
How the AERAQUA Modular System Works
- Solar-Optimized Energy Use: The AERAQUA Modular 100L Unit operates efficiently with solar power, reducing the need for large solar setups. Each unit can be operated independently, allowing the system to automatically adjust its energy usage. On sunny days, all units can be in operation, but during cloudy days or at night, the system can automatically adjust by turning off units or only running a few. This optimizes your energy usage, minimizing the need for battery storage and maximizing solar efficiency.
- Scalable Water Production: Start with one 100L unit, and easily scale up by adding more modules. Each module operates independently, which means that you can increase your water production without dramatically increasing your energy requirements. You only pay for the capacity you need, and can expand as your needs grow.
- Efficient Water Generation for Remote and Off-Grid Locations: By splitting the water production into smaller, manageable modules, we’ve made it possible to produce large quantities of water in areas with intermittent or unreliable power. Whether you need water during the day, night, or when the sun is weak, the AERAQUA modular system adjusts to deliver a consistent supply of clean water, even in off-grid locations.
The AERAQUA Modular 100L Unit vs. Competitors
When comparing the AERAQUA Modular 100L Unit to traditional 500L systems, the differences are clear:
| Feature | AERAQUA Modular 100L | Competitor 500L System |
|---|---|---|
| Solar Optimization | Modular units operate independently, reducing energy needs | High energy demand, requiring large solar setups and batteries |
| Energy Use | Only operates 1-2 units at low solar availability, reducing battery load | Requires constant energy use for all 500L, even at night or low sunlight |
| Filtration | One centralized filtration system for all units, reducing maintenance | Individual filtration systems for each unit, increasing costs and maintenance time |
| Flexibility | Scalable, adding units as needed | Fixed capacity, no scalability |
| Reliability | Backup generator available for uninterrupted water production | May rely on constant power for reliable operation |
| Ideal for Remote Areas | Optimized for low-income, off-grid regions | Requires large infrastructure and consistent power |
Conclusion: Why Choose the AERAQUA Modular Water System?
The AERAQUA Modular 100L Unit is the future of sustainable water generation. With its solar-optimized design, scalable production capacity, and centralized filtration, it provides an affordable, reliable, and energy-efficient solution for water-scarce regions, especially where energy is unreliable. By breaking down large-scale water production into smaller, manageable units, we’ve created a system that’s both efficient and adaptable to varying environmental conditions.
Whether you’re looking to expand your water supply, reduce energy consumption, or ensure a reliable water source in remote or off-grid areas, the AERAQUA Modular System is the ideal solution.

PLACEMENT
Leave ample room for air to circulate.
Outflowing dry air is pushed out the back and incoming air is taken in on the right side. Make sure the outflow is not directed to the inflow of air.
How we produce water
STEP 1
Air inflow
96 cubic meters of air flows through the system every hour. This makes AERAQUA effective in cleaning your indoor air, too.
STEP 2
Water Condensation
Inflowing air is directed onto copper cooling coils. When moist air is combined with a cool environment, the moisture liquidises onto the coils.
STEP 3
Raw Water Tank
Condensed water flows into the raw water tank, located at the back side of the unit. You can also add tap water into this tank.
The tank is 3.8 liters / 1 gallon. Once enough water is in back tank, a pump automatically moves it to the next step.
STEP 4
Treatment
Three stage filtration removes odours, fine particles, chlorine, etc from the water.
UV light disinfects the water before it being stored in the pure water tank.
STEP 5
Pure water storage
Pure water is stored in the internal tank where it is kept cold.
Pure Water Tank is 1.2 liters / 0.32 gallons.
STEP 6
Click to dispense
View pure water storage tank level and temperature on the screen, and click to dispense into a glass or bottle.
Maintenance
-
Air filter change - once annually
Change air filters once per year, or more often if needed. You can check the air filter condition and vacuum it if lots of dust accumulates on the filter.
-
A light indicator starts flashing on the screen when it is time to change the filter. When that happens, reset the filter by pressing long on the Reset icon on the screen.
-
Water filter change - twice annually
Change water filter per every six months. If you also use AERAQUA to filter tap water, change water filter per 3000 liters or 790 gallons.
-
A light indicator starts flashing on the screen when it is time to change the filters. The indicator flashes when enough water has passed, or after six months, whichever comes first.
-
General maintenance - once annually
Run purification through in the system to cleanse tubes and internal water storage from any contaminants and residues.
All you need to maintain your AERAQUA are delivered to you in the maintenance package.
